The Commandery of Thistle and Rose, under the management of Chevalier Stephen Campbell GCStG, leads the Order’s activities in Scotland. Scottish knights, who are prominent members and officials in their local communities, bring with them many years’ experience in charitable fundraising and use these skills to develop the charitable profile of the Order north of the Border.
Amongst its other activities, the Commandery has:
- Helped sponsor the travel costs of Scottish wheelchair racer Meggan Dawson Farrell.
- Made a donation of three benches in memory of two fellow members of the Order. One bench has been placed at Strathcathro Hospital Stroke Unit in Brechin and two more in Kirkconnel in Dumfries.
- Sponsored an electrical scooter for a disabled person, which from feedback from his family has greatly increased his independence and mobility.
- Donated 22 very good quality Christmas gifts to a local heart group in Alloa in Clackmannan.
