Our Grand Prior, Chevalier Simon McIlwaine is also active in a civil defence volunteer corps, the Countess Mountbatten’s Own Legion of Frontiersmen, who are our service delivery partners in the Chelsea Film Club volunteering project.
Recently he attended the ordination of Padre Kevin Jacobs of the Legion of Frontiersmen and was presented to His Grace the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who was very interested in the corps and was knowledgeable about its East African campaign (as 25 Royal Fusiliers) in the First World War.
