Congratulations to our Grand Prior, Simon McIlwaine, who raised over £850 with a sponsored walk in support of The Friends of the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment.
The Friends of PWRR is a military charity that has been set up to raise funds to support members of the Regiment both past and present.
Over the last 10 years The Army Tigers, as the Regiment are known, have seen continuous action in Iraq, the Balkans and Afghanistan.
Needless to say this level of action takes its toll. PWRR have lost a number of their own and some soldiers have suffered life-changing injuries.
One of The Friends’ main concerns is the impact these experiences will have in the years to come and they are already seeing a number of soldiers suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
